The Valtenesi of Lake Garda

Discover the Valtenesi between villages and castles

Valtenesi is made up of small coastal municipalities overlooking the lake and hillside municipalities nestled on the morainic hills.

Valtenesi is famous not only for the beauty of the lake and hilly landscape but also for the production of DOC wine and DOP extra virgin olive oil.

The suggestive villages and medieval castles that we find in this area of Lake Garda in Brescia are: Padenghe, Moniga, Manerba, Soiano, Puegnago, Polpenazze and San Felice del Benaco.

We invite you to get in the car, or on the saddle of two wheels, for an up and down among these hills and to discover the treasures that are hidden in these small villages on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda.

  • Soiano del Lago

Soiano means “Door of the Sun”, and it is precisely in this town that our Hotel Porta del Sole is located in a silent and panoramic position.

  • Padenghe sul Garda

A small town inserted between the walls of an ancient castle, its narrow streets invite you to a walk to be enjoyed with only the sound of footsteps.

  • Moniga del Garda

A rustic agricultural village with its narrow streets, where you can admire flowered balconies and jasmine espaliers.

  • Manerba del Garda

With its fortress overlooking the lake, it is a destination for pleasant walks through a Natural Park, and from where you can see breathtaking views.

  • Puegnago del Garda

Here is where Groppello, the most typical wine of the Valtenesi, is born. A delicate red wine, spicy with fruity notes, velvety and pleasant.

  • Polpenazze del Garda

Situated in a splendid panoramic position, the church of Polpenazze enjoys one of the most beautiful views of Lake Garda.

  • San Felice del Benaco

Rich in culture and the beauty of the landscape, the panorama here is heavenly, so much so that in the past it was known by the name of Sinus Felix, or: happy inlet.
